Fairy Tales Formals was born in a basement in 2005 and became so popular with local residents that a year later we needed to find a larger home for the 300 gowns we had in stock. In October, 2006 we opened our first store in Hanson, Massachusetts, which we also outgrew very quickly and finally found our current location in Stoughton (pictured above).

Today, Fairy Tales Formals carries more than 1,600 different dresses and gowns, and we added over 300 tuxedos to the inventory in 2009. As the only formalwear retailer in Massachusetts that rents dresses and gowns for any formal event, Fairy Tales Formals truly is the best place to find the perfect prom dress, bridesmaid dress, evening gown, tuxedo, or any other formalwear at great rental rates and unbelievable purchase prices.

Our Formalwear vs. Their Formalwear

Fairy Tales Formals approaches obtaining formalwear a little differently than most retailers. Many times formalwear retailers find themselves entwined in contracts with designer distribution companies that dictate sales price, floor plans, what designer formalwear they are allowed to carry, and many other restrictions that severely limit the retailer's ability to offer a wide variety and keep the retailer in debt for the duration of their existence.

Fairy Tales Formals buys directly from the distribution companies, liquidation companies, and wholesale suppliers. We are not a consignment shop. By doing this, we can choose exactly what we carry, set low prices for our formalwear, and manage our store the way we want. The way we want includes renting women's and men's formalwear and helping make dreams come true for less money than our competitors could ever offer.
